DSRE Staff and Agents Participate in Annual Soup Bowl for Samaritan Center for Homeless Families of IRC

VERO BEACH, FL/NOVEMBER 2019 – Dale Sorensen Real Estate (DSRE) staff and agents recently participated in the annual soup bowl to raise funds for the Samaritan Center for Homeless Families of IRC.  This is the seventh year that the company has participated in the event.

Participants were able to choose from a variety of eleven different soups, all made and donated by the staff and agents.  Soups included Black Bean & Ham Soup, Moroccan Beef Stew, Hamburger Soup, Corn Chowder,
Curried Butternut Squash, Chicken Vegetable Soup, Chicken and Dumplings Soup, Minestrone Soup, Chicken Tortilla Soup, Avgolemono Chicken Soup with Rice and Cajun Bean & Ham Soup.  The event raised over $500 for the Center.

According to the Center’s Facebook page, the Samaritan Center for Homeless Families of IRC is a long-term transitional residential facility for homeless families in Indian River County with a structured step-based program with onsite 24-hours a day case managers that help pregnant women and homeless families develop the life skills needed for successful reintegration into mainstream society.  This is the 27th year that the Samaritan Soup Bowl has been held in Indian River County.  More than forty businesses and organizations hosted the event at their individual locations.

This is just one of many ways that DSRE gives back to the communities they serve.  With the company leadership cultivating the culture of giving, those within the company at all levels also consider themselves “community servants”.  Hundreds of volunteer hours and thousands of dollars are donated on behalf of a multitude of non-profit and charitable organizations in the community and around the world.  Staff and sales agents volunteer on boards and at events, selling everything from soup to fish tacos, hosting parties, dancing in the local “dancing with Vero’s Stars” and traveling abroad to provide medical treatment for impoverished nations.  The company also hosts the Annual Vero Beach Easter Parade and Photos with Santa.

Since 2014, DSRE has donated space to charities in its stand-alone real estate broadsheet in the Press Journal. The charities take advantage of this donation to market their events and fundraising purposes.  Organizations like The Boys & Girls Club, Environmental Learning Center, Riverside Theater, Indian River Community Foundation, Hibiscus Children’s Center, Harvest Food & Outreach Center, Children’s Home Society, VNA, Indian River Medical Center, Indian River Firefighters’ Fair, the Humane Society and others have all taken advantage of the generous donation.  The marketing piece gives the organizations a marketing opportunity they would never be able to afford otherwise. The company donates over $250,000 a year in advertising space alone.
